These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Islamix mobile application (the "App") published by A.T.A.N Industries, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17306187) with its registered office at 483 Green Lanes, London, England, N13 4FG ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy (islamix.app/privacy) and our Prayer Times & Religious Content Disclaimer (islamix.app/religious-disclaimer), which form part of your agreement with us.

You may use the App only if you can form a binding contract with us under the laws of your jurisdiction, and only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. This licence is further described in the End-User Licence Agreement (EULA) at islamix.app/eula.

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, sub-licence, rent, or lease the App, except as permitted by these Terms, the EULA, or applicable law;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
  • remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices in the App;
  • use the App in any unlawful manner, or to violate the rights of others; or
  • interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or any systems or networks connected to it, including the third-party services the App relies on.

5. Religious content and prayer times

Prayer times, Qibla direction, the Islamic (Hijri) calendar, adhkār, and related content in the App are calculated and informational aids. They are generated from astronomical calculations and settings such as your location, calculation method, madhab, and time zone, and may differ from the timings observed by your local mosque, community, or religious authority.

The App is a tool, not a religious authority. You are responsible for verifying timings and religious observances with trusted local sources when precision or certainty is required. Full details are set out in our Prayer Times & Religious Content Disclaimer (islamix.app/religious-disclaimer), which you should read and which forms part of these Terms.

The App can schedule reminder notifications on your device. The delivery and exact timing of notifications depend on your device, operating system, notification permissions, battery-optimisation and power-saving settings, and manufacturer software, all of which are outside our control. We do not guarantee that any notification will be delivered, or delivered exactly on time.

The App relies on third-party services, including our geocoding provider (LocationIQ), the provider that hosts our geocoding proxy (Cloudflare), and diagnostics services, as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services or their availability. Place data provided through LocationIQ is derived from OpenStreetMap and is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.

The App, including its name, branding, design, user interface, graphics, text, and software (excluding third-party and open-source components identified in the App's third-party notices), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence granted in Section 3, no rights are granted to you. Certain components of the App are provided under open-source licences; those components remain governed by their respective licences, which are acknowledged in the App's Third-Party Licences notice (islamix.app/licenses).

"Islamix" and associated logos are our marks. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any feature.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or that prayer times, Qibla direction, calendar dates, or notifications will be correct or timely.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss, or for any loss arising from: reliance on prayer times, Qibla direction, calendar dates, or notifications; missed, delayed, or incorrect notifications; inaccuracies in calculated content; unavailability of the App or of any third-party service; or loss of data.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App and these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the App (if any) or GBP 10.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms.

These Terms apply for as long as you use the App. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you breach these Terms. You may end this agreement at any time by ceasing to use and uninstalling the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence continue to apply.

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, additional terms in the EULA (Section on "App Store / Google Play terms") apply, and these Terms are between you and us only — not Apple or Google.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
